This is the best 2-hour tour of Niagara Falls since it combines history, folklore, and breathtaking vistas while being driven by a fun and cool electric scooter. You will be led along Niagara's undiscovered jewel by a local guide. The Niagara Gorge was formed over the course of 12,000 years as a result of the Falls' erosive action. Take a break at one of the many vantage points along the valley for unique views of Niagara Falls and the gorge itself. In Whirlpool State Park, you can observe the river turn 90 degrees and create a sizable whirlpool from a vantage point 180 feet above a series of Class 6 rapids. Learn about historical daredevils, heroic rescues, perilous crossings and more.
At this location, the Niagara River turns 90 degrees. Whirlpool State Park is located on top of the Niagara Gorge. The river becomes a very enormous vortex as a succession of class 6 white water rapids are unable to get around the 90 degree curve. A bathroom is also available here.
Between Niagara Falls, NY, and Niagara Falls, ON, there is a bridge known as the Whirlpool Rapids Bridge. Instead of entering Canada, we shall observe from the American side. A group of class 6 whitewater rapids are located above the bridge. Also, it was here that Homan Welsh flew his kite across the river, which carried the first cable needed to build a suspension bridge across the valley in the late 1800s.
