Horne Lake cave explorations
You can choose from many cave tours with different time frames that range from 1-5 hours and with different levels of difficulty. If you prefer no squeezing or vertical climbing, then choose the Riverbend Cave Explorer, which is suitable for kids 5 and above too! Multi-cave experience lasts for 2-3 hours and can include children above 8 years. This tour needs you to climb up an underground waterfall whereas the extreme cave & Rappel tour includes rappelling down a seven-storey waterfall and a cave slide.
You can choose to explore Horne Lake Caves in Vancouver without guides in designated areas. Self-guided explorations with the right equipment are budget-friendly ideas for caving. You can get a laminated Horne Lakes cave map at the entrance of the trail. Designated self-guided tour spots provide you with areas to practice cave-squeezing.
Dress code and equipment
Horne Lakes cave is cool and damp throughout the year, with temperatures of 8 degrees Celsius. You are highly recommended to dress in layers and the longer you stay in the caves, the deeper you feel cold. Floors in the caves are rocky and uneven, therefore wear running shoes, sturdy footwear, and hiking boots. If you are visiting in winter, wear a pair of rubber boots as the caves might have running water accumulated on the ground. Helmets, hard hats, flashlights, and headlamps are necessary for touring the Horne Lake caves in a safe and secure manner.

Exceptionally bad traffic made the start later than would have liked but Shawn our driver was a brilliant host making sure we experienced all the features of the trip. Skylon Tower, the Sheraton Buffet, Niagara Falls, the whirlpool, Niagara on the Lake, the world’s smallest church and the wine tasting. Highly recommend and book it all you will not be disappointed.

We went with Shawn on our tour and from the very beginning he was very professional and courteous! Shawn was an excellent safe driver and we had a smooth trip and at all of our stops we had more than enough time to enjoy the sights! I would definitely take this tour again if I were in Toronto and didn’t want to drive and I highly recommend Shawn and his fine hospitality and kindness and great knowledge of the area. We had a great time! We are from British Columbia and have never been to Niagara so booking through tour beez was easy and they did all the planning, even small details like booking our Uber, providing links and times. Our tour guide, Shawn was extremely knowledgeable with the falls and also the surrounding area. He was so friendly and personable. Shawn was the tour guide of the day and he was absolutely fantastic! He’s super friendly and very informative. The tour allowed us to explore many sites including Niagara Falls, a scenic drive along Niagara parkway, a stop at Floral clock, and we finished with wine tasting at Niagara College. Would recommend this tour to anyone!
